B & Z Heart E

Wedding planning has its ups and its downs. It wasn't but two days ago that I concluded elopement was our best option, considering our pea-sized budget and proclivity for introversion. All we'd really need is a witness and since we'd already nominated Georgie it seemed all our bases were covered. Except for a wedding singer. That's one thing we really want. And we had one fellow in mind. Eef.

If you haven't heard of Eef Barzelay then you should really be ashamed of yourself. He's a life changer. Look him up right now you fool.

Although the odds were slim that he would actually be up for such a gig, I decided to email him.

"Dear Snideco/ Eef/ Clem,

This might be a long shot, but what the heck. It doesn't hurt to ask. I'm getting married, to my fiance on February 27th around the LA parts. We love you, you were our first date (at Spaceland). If, by any small chance, you might find yourself in our area at that time we would love to have you there. Drinks on us. Maybe play a little tune? Seriously, we'd probably name our first child after you. Might do it anyway. No pressure. Rock on.
-Beth"

AND THEN.......................... he emailed me back?!

"Dear Beth,

Mazel Tov to you and your fiance. I'm heartened by your invitation but I don't anticipate I'll be in LA in Feb. I'm sure you'll have a great time though and the love will be aflowin' as the clem snide plays softly in the back round.

best,
eef

p.s I don't recommend naming your kid after me but you may want to consider the name Topher, it's short for Christopher don't yah know!"

The next morning when I returned to my computer I was shocked and astounded to find that Georgie had begun composing a reply email to Eef, but had yet to send it.

It reads:

"bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqttsaaalkawa"

Was it gibberish or perhaps a cry for BBQ? Guess we'll never know.

Still

Still so good. Nom.

Troppy

I just rediscovered this on my flickr account. Kind of strange timing, finding it now, on the first day of a new semester at Biola only this semester I don't have to go back. I graduated, see. It is refreshing and it is frightening. I do miss Tropicana a bit, though. So here it is, from the inside out. >>

For Flan

Not long after the purchase of two mice Zack and I found ourselves with just one. As it turns out, feeder mice are often inbred and, as a result, often develop debilitating and often fatal diseases. Such was the case with Flan who died within two weeks of her purchase. Luckily within those two precious weeks we managed to snap a few photos of her before she met her untimely end.

Flan, this one's for you:

We will miss you.

Rats, etc.

It's all very scientific.

This annoying lady is tickling this poor koala, but boy is it ever adorable.

He kindly waits to rip her face off until the camera stops rolling.

Zack's Birthday

Zack's birthday is right after mine. Eight days after to be exact.

Here he is radiating the light of the sun.

He requested that all presents match his birthday outfit. This was a bit tricky considering I didn't know what he was going to wear. Lucky guess.

I've seen this somewhere before...

Then we got crepes and later wondered, "Is this too girly?" We decided that no, it was not.

Tattoo perhaps?

Yeah, I made it. And it's all mine.

So many things have happened.

Kind of.

It seems my birthday was nearly a month ago. Oh my.
In case you didn't know or perhaps want a visualization of the day here it is::

First off we went to the La Mirada park for a pad thai and flan picnic.

BTHA

Then we went to LA and tried to go to the Hammer Museum which, as it turns out it closed on Mondays, much like every other museum. Instead we went to Thank You Mart and Zack bought this shirt >>

Zack took a picture of me too so I didn't feel left out >>

Then we got more food at Mr. Pizza (Factory) and Zack was way too into it. >>

AND THEN WE WENT HERE!! >>>>>>>

Safety Dance

Over and over again. Forever. In his mind.

Georgie, why?

Over the past week or so Georgie Fruit has decided to go completely mental. I'm not exactly sure what has triggered this change in attitude, but for some reason he has decided he is no longer content to just sit and paw at your lap. What's worse is his decision to unleash the crazy during the hours of 12-9am, in and around places where I am trying to sleep.

Before::

After::

After two nights of the incessant maddness I ventured to Walmart to find some sort of solution to the Georgie problem and boy did I ever find it!

Say it with me: CAT. TENT.

Ok, so technically it's a cat privacy tent which is intended to go over the litter box (hence, it is bottomless), but after realizing that it would probably leave no room in the bathroom for human use, I decided to make it a play tent for Georgie.

And maybe myself.

And Zack too.

Don't worry, Georgie. One day, you'll get your turn.

** Meet Georgie Fruit **

Behold, Georgie Fruit, my first very own pet! After a long, rigid search for just the right cat Zack and I found him at an animal shelter in Downey amongst numerous other white wonders and incredibly fowl smelling dogs. At once I knew he had to be mine. And now he is.

Photobucket

Named after the African-American cross-dressing stage persona of of Montreal's Kevin Barnes, Georgie Fruit is described by Barnes as "a black man in his late forties who has been through multiple sex changes. He's been a man and a woman, and then back to a man. He's been to prison a couple of times. In the 70s he was in a band called Arousal, a funk rock band sort of like the Ohio Players. Then he went through a few different phases." Enlightening, no?

Photobucket

Georgie also enjoys dancing, watching tv, digging through the trash, staring at the ceiling, and making new friends.

Photobucket

Unfortunatly, over the past couple days Georgie has developed a rather nasty cold. He is sneezing and snotting everywhere. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
