22 things

I generally despise people who participate in myspace questionnaires and chain emails, but I made an acception, because I actually enjoy reading people's "25 Things." Sometimes. Anyway, here it is:

Beth's 22 Things List- because 22 is just better.

1. I dream of having a white german shepard named The White Wonder.
2. In fourth grade I started copying my best friends handwriting because I thought it was cool. I just recently gave that up.
3. I have a thing for red heads. I attribute this to my affection for my first childhood pet, a golden retriever named Annie.
4. My teeth are so small that I couldn’t get a normal tooth implant and had to settle for three giant metal teeth. Because of this I can no longer chew on tin foil or drink from water fountains without discomfort.
5. I chew on straws instead.
6. I think I want to be a pet psychic when I grow up.
7. I recently realized that I eat ice cream about three or four times a week. I think it’s genetic.
8. I was sweatin’ to the oldies long before I realized what I was getting myself into.
9. I learned the hard way that canes were not meant for playtime.
10. I buy a lot of things without reason, with hope that one day they will find a purpose.
11. Apparently my first words were “kill it” in reference to a spider.
12. I probably have a nickname for you.
13. In 6th grade a boy told me I looked like a koala. I have since learned to appreciate this resemblance.
14. I pray for Michael Cera.
15. My eyes often appear dilated, leading people to believe I’m on meth. I think this is also genetic.
16. I have a hard time saying no to people.
17. I always thought it would be cool to be an exercise granny when I got old, but then I realized that would probably require me to participate in physical activity.
18. One night last year while Claire and I were lying in our beds we each stretched a leg across the room and touched toes, sending us into uncontrollable fits of laughter. It’s still funny.
19. I have been the same size since jr. high.
20. When I was little I used to wish I had a voice like Mariah Carey. Now I lean more towards Leslie Feist.
21. One time while making brownies at a friend’s house I mistook some clothing starch for cooking spray. I realized my error only after the brownies were in the oven but I figured it would be in everyone’s best interest if no one knew. As far as I know everyone is still alive.
22. I have very violent sneezes that usually come in twos or threes.

believe it.

Maybe i'm behind the times, but i just made an amazing panda discovery.
THIS is a newborn baby. PANDA!

I almost wish they stayed this size. Think about it.. a pocket sized, blind, pink, fuzzy panda. We could make millions people. You know where to reach me.

i. love. straws.

This guy, Tokujin Yoshioka, a designer of beautiful things, made a huge installation of two million drinking straws at Design Miami. I suggest you check out all of his designs here.

Party of One

I went to a concert all by myself on saturday at the Hollywood Palladium. This was a new experience for me and one that I would recommend that you partake in at least once in your life. Come to think, of it I'm pretty sure I read similar advice somewhere in a Seventeen Magazine a few years back. Dear god they've brainwashed me!
Anyhow, brainwashing or not, I still think it's a good idea. I'm a person who is prone to staying indoors when I'm alone. It's just safer that way, plus people really annoy me so it's best if i keep away from them as much as possible. A few weeks ago when I bought my ticket to see Of Montreal I did forsee it being a solo adventure, knowing that my love and adoration for this band far surpassed that of my roommates. So with ticket in hand I alone ventured to the land of the stars (and hobos) (and trashy sluts) to see what I hoped would be fantastic show.

And it was. The glitter and spandex flowed like milk and honey. It was a party for a whole host of people from the bedazzled preteen to the unassuming 40-something. The douche bags raved, the metal heads shook their long, grungy hair, and the nerds pranced in place as the pig-men on stage battled ninjas. It was glorious. As I scanned the crowd I located several others who appeared to be at the concert alone dancing without fear or shame. To them I say rock on you awkward dragon slayer, you beautiful, sweaty freak.
While standing on the balcony I managed to make a few friends one of whom resembled a husky Jason Schwartzman. Sure, they were on mushrooms, but they were sweet just the same. They even invited me to join them on the dance floor, to which I replied, "Hells yes!" and cha cha-ed my way down the stairs. Oh, what a night.

>>>> Hey, all you introverts out there, step out of your dark cave, unfold from the fetal position, the world isn't too bad. Just stay away from the mushrooms. Problem solved. Done.

mmmore

Ok, that last post was pathetic, mostly because the only person who reads this is the one in those photos I posted. Hi zack.
Perhaps what's even more pathetic is my Kasha obsession. You know Kasha:

This dog is really the jack of all trades with many more skills than I could possibly handle as a human. Not only does she attack people on the beach, but she also scales mountains,

runs at the speed of light,

whispers to kitties,

stands erect,

and apparently has the ability to clone herself.

This is truly God's finest creature.

Glorious Beast

Oh boy, do i have a treat for you!? Yes. The answer is yes. Remember those screeching horsemen from Lord of the Rings? Well, apparently, they've possessed a dog somewhere in italy that is now stalking the beaches with a thirst for blood.
